Take a look at this free e-book available for download: "The New Rules of PR" by David Meerman Scott. It's a primer on writing effective press releases and a good reminder of why its important to leverage new forms of media in publicity efforts.
What I like about Scott's 'e-book' is that in addition to providing good information, it's an effective viral marketing tool for his upcoming book. Providing relevant, useful information as a platform for a marketing message isn't new, but it is very much underused.

Thanks for linking to my ebook, Anne. I am absolutely amazed that this ebook has gotten something like 200,000 downloads. It's the new rules. Imagine if I had tried to get that exposure through traditional methods of PR or ads or direct mail?
