I’m just now catching my breath from the Z-List meme that swept through here and catapulted Brandsizzle to dizzying new heights. (Thank you, everybody, for the great boost!) Now, lucky me, I’ve been ‘tagged’ by my former ‘good friend’ and fellow blogger Scott Burkett to share 5 things that aren’t generally known about me. So here goes:
- I just participated in my first podcast; I was visiting Scott and Mike Blake, founders of the Start-Up Lounge podcast series, and suddenly found myself being interviewed on how to select the right consultant for a start-up business! You can listen to my debut here: http://www.startuplounge.com/
- Marketing expert I most admire: Philip Kotler, Professor of International Marketing at the Kellogg School of Management. He’s a brilliant strategist who’s written a ton of books including a marketing textbook used at Harvard, Wharton and other business schools. Reading anything he’s written will instantly raise your I.Q.
- My favorite marketing book is the Michael Porter classic, “Competitive Strategy, Techniques for Analyzing Industries and Competitors.” If you are in marketing this is a must read.
- I met my husband-to-be when I had a flat tire and he stopped to change it for me. We got married 6 months later.
- When I was about 7, I jumped off the roof of my parents’ garage holding a red, plaid umbrella, because I thought I would just float down, like in the cartoons. I didn’t. Fortunately, my most serious injury was a sprained ankle.
Okay, that does it for me. Hopefully, this isn’t like those chain letters where all sorts of bad things happen to you if you don’t send it to 100 people, or in this case send this meme to five more people. Everyone I know has already been tagged!
